This year's papers do look lively, especially "Real-time gradient-domain painting." I like reading the papers online, even though it steals most of the reason for attending the conference:http://kesen.huang.googlepages.com/sig2008.html
As long as they continue to sneak in a couple of rendering papers (so far, so good, but I see where the trend is going), I'm in.-matt
